We are proud to announce that Jondo Obi, our devoted Director, has received the British Empire Medal for services in the community. The medal was given to Obi as part of the Queen’s Jubilee honors.
“This award is a big deal for the Cayman Islands Red Cross because we are a very small organization and yet our impact has not only reached the Cayman Islands but also across the Caribbean region and even globally. With a strong dynamic team of 7 staff members & over 200 active volunteers, we’ve been able to develop strong community programs and services for the people of the Cayman Islands”, says Obi.
“I am extremely grateful that over the past 19 years I have had the opportunity of leading such a vibrant organization which continues to make a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis”, she adds.
