Red Cross and CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank Team Up for 24th Annual Golf Tournament to Raise Funds for Critical Programs
The Tournament was dedicated to the Hurricane Preparedness efforts and serves as the main fundraising event for the programs provided by the organization.

Bobo & Teedee Go To Iraq
The “Bobo and Teedee: Health and Hygiene” video, which featured a brand new handwashing song, was created almost entirely during the lockdown and had to be adjusted to reflect the ever-changing hygiene guidelines. The video as made available free of cost to schools in Cayman, across the region, and in the United States. One year later Bobo and Teedee would find themselves in Iraq.

Governor Celebrates Red Cross' 60th Anniversary
Supporters, staff, and volunteers of the Cayman Islands Red Cross recently gathered at Government House to commemorate the organization’s 6oth anniversary. The event was hosted by HE the Governor, Martyn Roper, who lauded the organization’s dedicated volunteers and staff for their invaluable service to the community.

Red Cross Gears Up for Hurricane Season with Annual VARs Meeting
The Cayman Islands Red Cross (CIRC), which sits as the chair of the Volunteer Agency Responders (VARs) under the NEOC, held the annual 2021 VARs meeting, as part of the preparations for hurricane season and future emergencies, such as pandemics and natural or manmade disasters.

Governor Visits Red Cross Shelter
HE the Governor, Mr. Martyn Roper, who is also the Patron of the Cayman Islands Red Cross (CIRC) visited the Shelter and met with staff and volunteers. The newly renovated shelter which was officially opened in January this year is a 24/7 facility and is ready and available to provide a safe haven for those needing assistance during an emergency.

Red Cross Launches Appeal to Aid Victims of Hurricane Eta
The Cayman Islands Red Cross has launched an appeal to support the victims of Hurricane Eta in Central America. While the full impact of the category 4 hurricane is not yet known, rapid initial assessments from Red Cross officials on the ground have identified as many as 1.7 million persons affected in Honduras, 30,000 persons in Nicaragua, and 144,000 persons affected in Guatemala.

Help Us Weather the Storm: Stand Behind Our COVID-19 Initiatives As We Prepare for Hurricane Season
The CIRC has been in response mode since March 16, 2020 and due to the health considerations of COVID-19 the organization has had to suspend all non-response services since that time. This has meant that two main sources of income, first aid training and the sale of goods via our Thrift Shop, have been directly impacted due to the inability to provide these services under government restrictions.
