Samantha White Smith serves as the Volunteer & Resources Manager for the Cayman Islands Red Cross, where she oversees the recruitment, training, and engagement of more than 200 volunteers who form the backbone of the organisation’s humanitarian work. She has a MBA from Bradford University and a post-graduate Diploma in HR.
Samantha first joined the CIRC as a volunteer in 2015 and quickly became a permanent member of the team the following year, reflecting her deep commitment and exceptional leadership. Prior to relocating to the Cayman Islands, she worked as a manager for a major hotel group in Jamaica, where she honed her skills in coordination, operations, and people management—skills that now serve her well in the fast-paced, community-driven environment of the Red Cross.
In her role, Samantha manages every stage of the volunteer journey—from recruitment and orientation to the delivery of the Ideals in Action induction course, ongoing support, and annual recognition of volunteers’ contributions. She plays a key part in fostering an environment where volunteers feel valued, equipped, and inspired to make a difference.
Samantha is passionate about empowering individuals, groups, and partner organisations to take the lead in driving positive change within their communities. In addition to managing the volunteer programme, she supports the day-to-day operations and resource management of the CIRC office, ensuring that both people and programmes thrive.
